The Nano Surface Coating technology dramatically minimizes light reflection at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. It results in the super clear images with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.
The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) boasts double repression power compared to the MEGA O.I.S.. It is particularly effective for a low-frequency vibration, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. This greatly improves the quality of shots taken at night or indoors where flash cannot be used, or where the photographer doesn't want to use flash because it would spoil the mood. It captures beautiful photos in situations that previously resulted in blurring.
The new lens system uses 4 aspherical lenses, 1 UED lens and 1 UHR lens in 14 lenses in 9 groups to realize outstanding compactness, while maintaining the image quality. When mounted on the LUMIX G Micro System cameras, the LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. can take maximum advantage of contrast AF system, which boasts both high accuracy and high speed for more stress-free shooting. Notably the performance of AF is by far superior to the phase-difference AF when fast lens with smaller F value is used.
The LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. is recommended for shooting videos. In addition to its ability to use the auto focus in recording videos, a silent design that suppresses lens drive noise records sounds with greater clarity.
